Artist Sergey Kirsanov was born in Moscow in 1961. In 1976-1981 he studied in Fedoskino lacquer miniature school. After graduating he worked as a designer. Perestroyka is changing situation in the country, made it possible for artists to devote himself entirely to his favorite work miniature painting. Sergey return to work with lacquer boxes. The main subject of his works is Russian landscapes. Since 1995 he has taken part in many great exhibitions devoted to the 50-th Anniversary Of Victory in the Second World War, 50-th Anniversary of the Moscow Region Artists Union, 200-th Anniversary of Fedoskino Lacquer Miniature painting. Using traditional methods of painting S.Kirsanov doesn’t seek pretentious embellishment of the picture. His main aim is to reflect the mood, the depth of the sky, the freshness of the air, joy or melancholy, triumph or grief.
